Remodeling The Kids Bathroom

Remodeling can be tricky when you are trying to think about what visitors will want to see and what you might want to use. It is important that you choose the right color, and that color matches the pictures on the wall, and those pictures match the floor. It can be tedious, confusing, and at times quite frustrating.

All of that frustration leaves when you are working on remodeling your kids bathroom. This is one of the few rooms in the house where you can be truly creative and have some real fun! During this project you should incorporate your kid’s ideas and allow them to help out.

Colors

Don’t be afraid to think out of the box and use some bright colors that you wouldn’t otherwise think about using in the guest or master bathroom. Ask your son or daughter what colors they like the most and try to work them in. Don’t be afraid to use pinks, blues, purples, and yellows. Just remember not to go too crazy and do something that will kill the eyes and the head.

Themes

One of the easiest ways to decorate is to first choose a theme. Most kids will have favorite cartoon characters. Use superheroes for your son and fairies and princesses for your girl. Themes will allow you to stick to colors that work well together and decorations that are easy to find.

Painting

One of the most dramatic ways to remodel a kid’s bathroom without having to spend a fortune is to simply paint the walls. There are three ways you can do this. The first is to paint every wall a solid color. This should be the main color you want to use. The second is to paint the top portion of the wall with the main color and the bottom portion with a darker shade of the same color. Make sure to have a solid color border to separate the two.

The third is to use one solid color over each wall – but to sponge paint it. Sponge painting isn’t always easy to do – but it is a lot of fun for the kids and it looks great in the bathroom. Simply take a paint sponge, dip it in the paint (not too much at a time), and sponge it all over the wall.
